Monument Fire

I was up in Tucson on Sunday picking up some PA gear.  on the way back I got a call from a friend saying that they were evacuating my home area.  By the time I got to the road entrance to my community, the evacuation was in full force.  The only way I got in was that I had a pet there.  They told me to go get her and return immediately.  Needless to say, I also hitched up the band trailer with all our gear in it, put the computer, important papers, photo albums and some cloths and medicines in the jeep and we hightailed it out of there.  The file got to within 3/4 mile of the house. (the picture above taken while we were leaving is as close as it got.

We sat down the road a couple of miles and watched the fire waiting to get back into the house. Took a bunch of pictures, and this one is really neat time exposure which shows the wing light of one of the fire fighting tankers going across the picture.  We were allowed back in at 9pm.
I took this picture from the front porch shortly after 9:30

The fire burned mostly on the mountain all Monday, but on Tuesday it came roaring down Ash Canyon and destroyed a bunch of homes.
Hope that today will be better.  It was burning on the other side of the mountains when I got up at 4am this morning.

Video shoot of Elly May's Biscuits

Had the greatest time in Tombstone last weekend!

We started out on Saturday night to a crowd of Hundreds at the Dragoon Saloon.  It was Wyatt Earp days, and the crowd in town was awesome.  earlier in the day Rowdy did and interview with Dana Cole from the Sierra Vista Herald.  They are going to do two articles on us in the very near future.

On Sunday Justin Kreinbrink of Taz Entertainment in Tucson brought all his equipment and crew down to shoot a video of us doing Elly May's Biscuits at the Helldorado Town Amphitheater.  After about 20 times playing the song, they got enough footage to take it into the studios at Old Tucson and complete the Video.  They are going to bring in some other actors and create a story line around the video footage they shot.  Can't wait, CMT here we come!

We played that night in the amphitheater. It was the grand opening of the music venue.  What a great place to play.  Thanks to Jim Ferguson and crew we all had a great time and are looking forward to coming back.
