With the administration playing games around “Immigration Reform” there has to be some common sense applied.
In the first thing, our immigration policy is in fine shape, always has been. We could use a little “guest Worker” additions, and maybe put a “Brain Drain” on some countries with incentives, but what is needed is something to deal with ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION. Who in the heck needs to call it “Immigration” anyway, it is simply people who are illegally entering the United States without passing through the legal immigration process (Which millions of people in the world are waiting patiently in line for) and those who illegally overstay their visa.
And yes, they should be called “Illegal Aliens”, not the PC “undocumented workers” When did we get started on this PC crap anyway, it “Scabs my Ass”!!
Both the left and the right in politics are trying to convince us that they are serious about stopping the illegals, but neither is being truthful with us. The left has always tried to stop any meaningful efforts to stem this tide, and now the right, after last election is getting on the bandwagon since it seems Republicans can’t get elected without Hispanic Support.
I am not against Illegal Aliens, per se, and if I was one of them living under the conditions that they do, I would be the first one to be stepping through those few strands of barb wire that we have here in AZ for most of our border.

What I am against is the fact that our government does nothing to stop the flow, they make it more and more appealing for these people to come here every day. The employers who hire them at the detriment of local citizens, the failure of the government to crack down on employers, the failure to require mandatory E-verify, and a host of other things, including access to free healthcare via our emergency rooms, and on and on.
As an example, a couple of years ago I had a serious thing happen to me. I called my doctor and he said for me to go to the emergency room immediately. Liz and I drove to Sierra Vista Hospital and checked in at 2pm. After three hours of waiting, it seemed that I was no closer to being admitted than when I got there, and there were at least 50 other people waiting, 48 of who were Hispanic. (I cannot say that they were all illegals). I ended up checking myself out and going home.
When Regan gave the illegals amnesty, he was promised enhanced enforcement of the border which never happened and subsequently we now have al the people that he granted amnesty to PLUS another 12 million (that’s what they say in the govt., so it is probably 15 million in reality). Already with the “Gang of 8” talking about new programs, all through South America it is being advertised that if you want to get to be a citizen of America, get your butt up there right now before it is too late. This weekend Rubio was all over the talk shows with the rudiments of the plan. After hearing that, I am sure that our border was crawling with people trying to get in to take advantage of the amnesty (Yes Virginia it is AMNESTY) def: the act of an authority (as a government) by which pardon is granted to a large group of individuals.
Wow, I got off on too much stuff there, Back to the topic………..
Since in our last blog we brought all the troops home from the Middle East, we have a lot of guys and gals that need a job. If we cannot build a wall (take a look at the wall in Israel, it works fine) along our border that actually stops illegal traffic (both workers and drugs), we could at least put someone down there with a gun to shoot whoever tries to cross. A few well publicized shootings of illegal crossers would go a long way to stopping the flow. Why the heck do we issue weapons to Border Patrol if we don’t let them use force to stop traffic? Considering the cost of illegal aliens to our economy, the cost of preventing them would probably be a drop in the bucket. I started writing a book about a detailed solution to our border problem a few years ago. I did a lot of research into what the illegals really cost our country and it is staggering. You can be sure it is not truthfully told by our government since as I stated above that they don’t want it to stop. How many times have you heard the statement “We can put a man on the moon, but…….”? It is true, this is the greatest country in the world for getting things done, all we have to do is create the incentive to do it, be it security or monetary gain. Give me the equivalent salary of a dozen border security agents and their administrative costs and I will personally take responsibility for a mile of the border. Guarantee no crossings in my sector, not the normal “we apprehended 3 out of 10 crossers”.
Come on! If you didn’t catch them how do you know how many there were? I am sick and tired of our government thinking we are idiots, if you want to believe any figures coming out of D.C., then you fit that category.
If you live in a border area, you know what is going on. The vast majority of the border agents are miles from the border at designated checkpoints, and roving around in between. I lived 2.5 miles from the border for a few years until recently. I saw only one group of illegals on my property, since it is fairly developed. I called them in to USBP, but we waited for a couple of hours and never saw anyone come out to get them.
Bottom line, is that we have to have REAL border security before we even think about talking about a “Path to Legalization” otherwise we are kidding ourselves.
For study, google some of the other countries around the Americas, and even other places in the world and see why they have no border security problems.
Well that will have to do it for now, don’t want to loose your attention span – lol
Stay tuned for next week when I give an intelligent BLOG about “Iran and the Bomb”
